Photonuum, Inc. was founded
by Ron Fulton in 2001 with a simple but brilliant vision of
the future: “a continuum of light.” He believes
we are just starting to tap the potential of photonics and
fiber optics as an enabler to enhancing the lives and protecting
our most valuable resource, people.
As an entrepreneur, consultant and business
leader, Mr. Fulton focuses on fiber optic and wireless technologies
and the development of data, voice, video and telemetry network
equipment, software, services and solutions. Fulton’s
areas of expertise include fiber optics and photonics, defense-military
and public safety systems, commercial wireless networks, the
convergence of the Internet and mobile computing, and emergence
of Internet-based broadband and information services for business
and consumer markets. Recent focus and publications from Fulton
deal with topics such as leveraging the telecommunications
infrastructure to offer a nationwide CBRNE (Chemical, Biological,
Radiological, Nuclear and High Explosive) anti-terrorist tracking
and monitoring network, engineered photonic solutions for
battlefield, airborne and shipboard platforms, delivering
wireless data services to the enterprise, leveraging satellite
communications, carrier strategies for next generation wireless
services, and business and consumer demand for wireless and
fiber optic connectivity. Previously, Mr. Fulton has held
general management, technical sales, product management, market
management, and systems engineering positions at early stage
fiber optic start-ups, Fiber-Span LLC, Tyco Electronics/LDI,
Ortel Corporation, ADC Telecommunications, Raytheon, Allied
Signal and the U.S. Army. Mr. Fulton has extensive experience
in photonics and fiber optics, optical networking and transmission,
radio frequency (RF) network design and deployment, direction
finding (DF)/signals intelligence (SIGINT)/electronic warfare
(EW) technologies, fixed and wireless broadband networks and
